hey dumb question. me and the wife both have the same phones mot. v601 with at&t service. just about 3 weeks ago when she turns on her phone it now says cingular and mine still says at&t. i email at&t / cingular from the at&t web page and the reply i got was so far out from the rep it had nothing to do with the question i sent them. it was like he clicked on the wront auto answer and hit send. i also had to call blue to get my replacement v60i phone programmed and the rep was so lost she had to keep asking another employee to help her took like 20 mins to get it done. once we did get the right steps it only took a few min to get it up and running. it seems when it was just blue service was much better. i would have thought that since the two paired up blue/orange = not any better service as far as network and better signal. ok enough bashing for now just venting a little. sorry....

thanks for any thoughts !!!

hi hnyswtdl

I was wondering, I'm a current AT&T customer, if I buy a phone on amazon, can I just bring it to a now Cingular store and have them migrate my number?

I recently signed up with Rogers (I'm in Canada) and got a V220 Motorola. I loved my phone, lost it. icon_frown.gif Bought a Nokia, got a new chip, didn't like it, so I took the phone back (kept the chip).

I bought a new unlocked Cingular from the U.S. Put my chip in and the phone works great......but, I can't download games or any of the other stuff I loved and was just learning about. What do I need to put in the settings for it to be able to browse again?

Thanks,

Leanna.

Well G`day eh!

Yes you Can

but why not take the free or nearly free phone as a backup? then you have a spare if yours gets broken (just slip in the sim)

Hi, A few months ago I started texting with the phone a lot, and ran up a nice bill. So I went to the ATT store and got a new phone and asked about upgrading the text messaging. I was offered a plan for unlimited Text Messages for 7.99 a month extra. I got this. Now Since the switch this seems to have disappeared. I am being told that this never even existed. Can you tell me if I am imagining things or not?

7.99 sounds like the rate for an mmode plan (internet access on your phone)....

text plans are 1.99 ,4.99 9.99, and 19.99 for 25, 100,300 and 1000 out going text respectivley... so that price point for that plan never did exist... mmode is free for a month then you pay for it...

I dont think you are imagining things just a little confused as to what you got / need....

do you surf from you phone? or just send text messages? do you use yahoo or msn messenger or the like? if so how much do you?

answer these questions here and I give you some options

I was told by my corporate ATT rep that Cingular (orange) customers will be migrated to the ATT network since ATT has both 850 and 1900 GSM coverage. What does this mean in terms of how this will affect me as a current ATT customer using the GSM network?

most of the phones are 850/1900 capable anyway...
