Just a thought... maybe ur located in the particular area where AT&T Wireless and Cingular have already merged the two networks; therefore, you should be getting different service or whatever has changed...
try to manually switch back to AT&T Wireless (menu -> settings ->network -> network setup -> type -> manual, then it should ask you about wich network you want to use, select AT&T Wireless) done!......

hope that helped...

ok I have an unlocked V600 from Cingular, and I am a former AT&T wireless customer, now "cingular blue" and I have 2 networks my phone taht it can register to. I can choose the one that says "cingular" and one that says "cingular wireless" but I wont to connect to the AT&T network, since i figure that will work better with my AT&T sim card. "AT&T wireless" is on my known network list, but I can;t make it my home network...it says cingular is my home netwrok and it has a house logo next to it.

I tired doing this: (menu -> settings ->network -> network setup -> type -> manual, then it should ask you about wich network you want to use, select AT&T Wireless) done! but once i siwthc to manual it says "searching for netowrks please wait...." and it has been doing that for an hour!

I need help. I get crappy singal on the cingualr network....but on my old AT&T nokia when it wa son the at&t netwrok signal was perfect.

Hi,
I sure hope someone can help me. I'll try to keep this short.
1) Bought my own phone.
2) On Att network.
3) Now wanting to go to Cingular
4) Phone is locked. Wasn't when I first bought it.
5) Now they (Att) will not unlock phone.
6) How can I unlock my phone so I can go to Cingular.
* They want me to buy another phone. (unaccpetable).

Thanks for the help,
Kevin

Of note on Motorola phones:

"Cingular" is the old AT&T Wireless network
"Cingular Wireless" is the existing Cingular network

Hi
My phone says "Wrong software" when I try and turn it on and I cant check for voicemail. is there a way I can call the cell phone from a landline and retrieve it? I can't figure it out. This is a work cell phone so I don't have any of the paperwork that came with it..

Can you help me with this. Every Thursday night at 10:00 pm exactley. My phone all of a sudden drops a call and then I can not call out and no one can call in. I was a former AT&T customer ,I guess I still am because I have not completely went to cingular yet. I called the service center twice the first time the lady did something she called unlocked my phone she had said something like that it got confused about the tower. The second time the lady gave me a number to punch into my phone that she said would unlock my phone, so the next day I called and talked to someone to see as to why this keep's happen and rep said (the short side of the story) is that I need to turn my phone off first thing when I get up in the morning and turn it back on because the rep seemed to think that my register was cluttering buy thursday and that is what was causing my phone to lock up. Can someone please help me with this and tell me what exactly is going on because I love the phone that I have and hate to change.

I would say that there is a defect in your phone... if the phone is still covered by warranty ... do a warranty claim... if not... buy a new one... if you dont wanna buy... avoid using your phone at 10 pm thursdays...
