but i can not get to the main screen, it wont even let me use the phone, i cant call anyone. it just says 'contact service provider'

it's probably asking you for the PUK. call customer service and they'll give it to you. it's specific to each phone.

id like to say i am happy with my cingular plan but i do have problems with costomer service.. i recently got a new phone to replace the one i have now. The on i want to use is a nokia 6820 it was used by at&t [now cingular] . i put my sim card in it and it says that the phone locked, i
the problem i have is the phone locked i tried some codes like 9 times it says phone restricted, i have used up my five tries to unlock the phone now i dont know what to do. i have checked alot of websites for codes but none of them have the code for this model. the reason i am upset with the customer service is that i went to one cingular store they said i have to go online, so i went to another store there was a guy there said he would try he couldnt find the code either, so i decided to go to another cingular store the guy there was a moron he said there is nothing he or anyone could do, that the only option is to thro it away. can you pleas tell me what i can do, i like the nokia and i know there is some way you or some place can unlock the restriction code. i talk to one person that did it to his phone , he said that i have to use a cable now, if thats how i have to do it id rather go with another carrier and pay more just because i hate this customer service, all i wanted to find out is where can i send the phone to get it unlocked, i know that cingular can do it, just tell me who to call because when i called they gave me all this crap about that the phone is unusable adn they cant do anything, thats a load of bull and you know that i just want to know how cn i fix it where can i send it. sorry for the long letter no one else replies form the company thanks.

well i called customer care and they said that since im not longer a att customer thay cant give it to me. and they say that since the phone has been locked i cant use it with tmobile either, i dnot know wat to belive

i have a quick question. i am still w/ ATT, and do not want to migrate to cingular. i had my new phone unlocked just so i could still use ATT but with a cingular phone. i am on a 'family plan' with two other people. one person HAS internet on their phone, and the other two of us do not. we had it cut off. so is there a way to get back the internet--whether pay for unlimited, or 1MB a month or whatnot, WITHOUT doing it through cingular...

i've tried to input settings on the p207 and it doesn't have the proper fields to enable mmode. even with the main settings entered, it just doesn't seem to work. granted, i was doing it with a customer over the phone.
