If anybody has the patience....
I got an unlocked V3 phone for use with T-Mobile and i was wondering if anybody knew the proper settings. I have tried searching through the boards but i can only find bits and pieces and what i have tried so far hasnt worked. I want to get at least AIM set up so that i can get that unlimited messaging plan before it turns into 1000 messages on 1/31/05. Any help would be appreciated.
The Fields for ths ISP settings for AIM are:
GPRS APN:_____
User Name_____
Password_______

As for the web settings i have no idea what to do. I tried changing some of the settings by searching through other posts but i have had no luck. All i want to do is to be ablt to download ringtones.
Thanks again.

what you should do is call cust care and explain that you have a v3 and you need the t-zones (WAP) settings [and probably MMS too] sent to your phone. If the rep doesnt know what youre talking about, ask to speak to tech.

All they have to do is send you an OTA (Over The Air) message that you open up just like a regular sms, and then your just turn your phone off and back on again.

Also, just because you cant use AIM doesnt mean that you cant get unlim sms before its too late.

The cust care rep should be able to send the settings to the handset and give you a pin # to enter....If you still cannot get into AIM, wireless data dept could probably help.. Also if you are able to access T-zones from that handset and you add tzones to your acct, you can use AIM thru the Tzones without being billed as a txt message. (I am not sure with that handset through what you can get or not..

Well, Samsung
I wouldn't swear to it as obviously I don't use Tzones but from what my counterparts "tell me" on the V300 if you use IM thru tzones it won't bill as txt... Help me, (I am not real Technical Minded!) You sound much more of a technical person than me...

Thanks for saving my name though! icon_smile.gif They (customers) would just need to get me on the phone, I am a BIG sucker for sob stories and an adjustment queen at times.... Only when I believe the story of course!

The GPRS APN is wap.voicestream.com the username and password are blank.. HOWEVER it will not work as Cingular has their verification server embedded in the firmware (aol.cwmim.com) which you can see by extracting the IM Config files... Unfortunately I have no clue what the tmobile server address is, if you find out please email me genibus@gmail.com
