Forgive me if this info is out there, but I can't find a definitive answer.
I want to IM with my phone. I have a text messaging plan. I don't want to incur a $0.10 charge for sending an IM. Can someone tell me if there is a way not to get charged for sending IMs using the Java powered AOL or Yahoo! clients builyt in to my phone? Is there a way to IM w/out using these clients and not get charged the dime (remember I have a Txt plan)?
Thanks!

Nope.
These instant messanging apps use the internet connection of the phone.
You could try to get a instant messanger which uses WAP instead of internet and get a cheap WAP plan.

Afaik not. But there are many third party apps which offer IM functionality (don't know any name because I'm not interested in using IM on my phone).

If you use the Opera browser app that the 6620 comes with you can get to a website, agile.com. The app is called agile messenger... you might be better off typing in a search for the app name. Make sure you download the right one for your model phone, there are a bunch to chose from. This application will give you access to AIM, Yahoo Mess. and MSNmessenger
