Where are you located? I'm currently in Hyderabad. If you're anywhere near here, we could perhaps try a couple of my friends who specialize in hard-formats..

my phone has done this (the main topic) a couple of times and i've luckily not wasted the memory card luckily as i still don't know why the security code thing does not work.. i have the 2 pin numbers. my tip is to connect the phone and DO NOT MOVE THE PHONE while transferring files between the pc and the phone. I've had more luck with windows explorer than nokia audio manager actually moving the files to the phone. oh and click on the icon on the bottom of your screen to make sure you disconnect the hardware usb device whatever before unplugging it. This will prevent data loss i didn't see it at least in this thread and it is in the manual i'm sure but make sure that people know that..

What Jadall says is correct, Even I've had a much better time transferring files directly through explorer than through the Nokia Audio Manager.
These days though, I use a much better modus operandi.
I bought myself a 15-in-1 card reader and it's a breeze copying files and stuff directly to the memory card without worrying about memory corruption or the link between the phone and the PC.
I just pull out the card and plug it into the card reader. With files being copied at USB 2 speeds, it's awesome and error-free.
Try it sometime, it cuold be just what you were looking for! )

hey angiasaa, i tried to do your trick about the 99 files
i made 3 folders, 2x of them with 99 files and the other with 56, their on the main directory, i made the m3u list and saved on MUSIC folder, but when start the music player it looks on the TRACK LISTS folder for a list, if i save it there it takes so much time to load, then it fails, do i have to make like 3 playlist one for each folder?
or can i just make one for the 3 folders??

Hi anarpi,
I suggest you try both PLS and M3U playlist formats. (not at the same time, try one, and then the other.)
The PLS format contains more data. (Ensure that before you save the playlist, Winamp [or whatever player you use] has loaded all the data for each song entry. There are two ways to do this, I'll explain later if you wish.)
If the entire list of songs have not been 'completely loaded' before you save the playlists, it will not work properly, maybe not at all..
Ensure that the files added into the playlist are only the ones on the MMC.
Open the Files in notepad or wordpad (not word unless you're confident you won't mess up the formatting) and make sure that the root directory is indicated by a '\' and not 'J:\' or whatever drive windows detects your Nokia/Card Reader as.
If that's the case (Drive letter is showing) then do a "Find and Replace" and change the whole list to just a '\'. Let the path remain.
If even these files don't work, then try changing the directory structure.
Now, the listing for the file:
SongsB\Classical\Mozart\Remix\whathe.mp3 would look like this:
\SongsB\Classical\Mozart\Remix\whathe.mp3
exactly like I've referred to it above, not as F:\SongsB\Classical\Mozart\Remix\whathe.mp3
But in case that does not work, this ..\SongsB\Classical\Mozart\Remix\whathe.mp3
Note the two dots (..) in front of the file listing.
That could be the problem you're facing.
I can't check on my phone at the moment since I'm out of town and have a different set at the moment, but I guess these two dots and the drive name are where the real trouble might be.
And make sure you try this stuff with both M3U and PLS formats..
Kaydeeyoh and hope this stuff helped..[/code]

Darn, I should have read your post carefully.
Just one Playlist should do the trick. You can make three of course, but it will work with just one as well.
Just make sure that you re-make the playlist file to follow the paths completely.. There should be NO DEAD LINKS!! if there are any, it will end up with a failure response.

No the phone probably will tank if it tries to load up 300 songs at once on a list. it runs really slow when you load up like just under the 100 songs or the 200 songs.. mine can do close to 200 songs in the existing directories on the phone at least. and it might just be tanking even if it is programmed right. what is it the "recordings" folder and the regular music folder.

No, The phone does'nt tank up. I've got a 1GB Kingston in my phone, and I have just under 800 songs on it at the moment. I usually encode at 128kbps. The output does'nt get any better with increase ion bitrate as far as the phone is concerned. (320kbps and above bitrates tend to stall the phone btw. It's not always so tho.) The rest of my space is taken up by other files. I use it like a flash disk of sorts.
Rules:
Never include more than 99 files in any folder.
File path should not include a drive name.
Works like a charm if you follow the paths externally by the reverse directory 'dots (..).
There are other rules I guess, that I follow unconsciously, but these are definitely the most important.
The 'recordings' folder is used to store radio-clips while you're Listening to FM on your phone. Mind you, the pop Headphone has to be plugged in before you can have radio access. The Antenna is in the head-set wire.
