I am considering to buy a 1 GB miniSD card for my motorola mpx220 smartphone. The phone said it support up to 512mb miniSD card. So I am looking for someone tried that already.
Also does the speed of the miniSD card matter?

They are coming soon. At least the Sandisk one. You can preorder it on some website for 78 something. But they didn't talk about speed.

Do you have a miniSD yet? If you don't you may be in for a surprise, this is my second phone and the card pushes out of the little flap. You have to hold it in to use it long term, I have a 512 and can't see using it for more than 10-15 mins without holding it in by hand.

I have a 512 in my phone, and it stay in fine. If yours won't lock in, you have a defective latch. Whether a 1gb will work or not, I can't say, I had no idea they even made them. I suppose it could be a defective card, have you tried more than one? If anyone get's a 1 gb to work, let us know. Good Luck.

well the only reason motorola stated in there manual that the phone will use a max of 512Mb is because at the time if manufacture only 512 MB was available and therefore they cant put a mad on to 1 Gb because they had no idea that the 1GB going tocome out however the 1Gb will work in the Mpx220 i have the mpx220 too and as for the sd wont hold in you have to really push it in there forit to stay it will keep onpoping out if its not all the way in it have aspring that pushes it out so you have to really get it in there and if that dont work try take the phone back to the place of purchase for aexchage if its cingular and the phone is withing 30 of purchase you can get a brand new one abck if its more than 30 old call customer service for them to send you a brand new phone because the is not suppose to be a issue with the phone and they will send you a new phone if yo unotify them of that it may take like 7 to 8 days tope for them tosend you a new one

from a few sites i've found and this ( http://www.topram.com/2005/minisd.htm ) it says the card IS compatible with the mpx220. infact from what i hear there is no limit to what you can use, and with talks of a 16GB card lurking around the corner thats good news
