I'm trying to find out how to email mp3s(this phone can play mp3s right?), midis, and jpegs to my phone. I've been sending the multimedia as an attachment to phonenumber@message.alltel.com. The message arrives, and the attached file is bracketed in {}. The manual says I can highlight an indicator emedded in the text to play the file. For some reason I can't seem to do this. Anyone know why? Also, can I set jpegs as my wallpaper, and mp3s as my ringtone?
Thanks

Have you tried senting it to your mobile number instead of your phone's email address?

I'm not sure what you mean by my mobile number, but I think thats what i'm doing, the message comes in as a text message. I haven't signed up for an email address on the phone yet.
thanks for the help

I meant sending the file as 1xxx-xxx-xxxxxx and not as [phonenumber@message.alltel.com].

Sorry, i'm not following what you're saying, i;m obviously new to all this... So instead of mailing it to 5555555555@message.alltel.com there is another address I should send it to?

Maybe I am not following you. I tested with my phone in two ways.
First, I sent the file using mms to myself by using my mobile number. The same way you would sent a sms text message to your friends.
Second, I have setup my phone to receive email from my yahoo account. My return address is set to my mobile phone using mobilephonenumber@mobile.mycingular.com. I tried senting the same file using email rather mms with this address.
Result. The first method worked but not the second. I was able to playback the file once I have received it. However, using the second method as stated above, I only receive a message and no attachment.
I hope this clears up some confusion you and I both may have.
All I wanted you to try was to send the file as if you are senting a plain mesage to your friend.
Just to clear up some of my question. Are you trying to send a mp3 file to your phone amd you are not able to play it after you receive it?

Ok, I have tried to send mp3s, jpegs, and midis to my phone using the second method. By mms do you mean sending a message from another phone to yours?
Thanks

Yes. I thought that was what you are trying to do but failed.

Here's what I am trying to do. I have some midi's, jpegs, and mp3s I would like to transfer from my computer to my phone. Is there any way I can do this, preferably without spending any money?
