Hi there!
I've been following the previous threads regarding updating the D500 firmware to non-branded versions to remove the annoying Orange sidebar.
I have downloaded the appropriate firmware update, and the flashing software, and I am waiting for a data cable to arrive in the post.
My question is: has anyone successfully carried out this firmware flash yet? If so, has anyone had any problems with it, in terms of reliability or damage to phone hardware.
I would love to remove the sidebar if possible, but not at the expense of ruining the phone!
Please let me know what the situation is.

yea orange software is horrible isnt it, i have a sim free generic D500 & my sister has the horrible silver orange one :S

I have the sim free D500 with firmware version D500XADKB.
Does anyone know of any firmware which enables the use of voice dialling as this seems to be a feature which has been overlooked by Samsung?

I flashed my D500E to the unbranded version (D500DDED4). I kinda got used to the sidebar though, but the unbranded firmware has the built in voice dialing / voice commands. Does anyone know if Orange has updated D500E firmware that still has their sidebar AND has voice dialing / voice commands?
