Hi! the_blues,
thanks for reply. I talked with Nokia technical support, they told me this PC suite software won't work with XP service pack 2. Funny solution given is go for Service pack 1.

Can you please try to answer following question.
- Where can I get mrouter3 beta software.
- Even I can not make Nokia connection Manager to work.PC suite won't load at all.
- Is that true that PC suite won't work with XP service pack 2?
- ON google Can you plase give me Search word for Changing Registry info.

- I have DELL 8600 Laptop with Dell,True Mobile 300,Internal Personal Wireless Card.

- I have latest PC suite and Windows Reg clean from Nokia website.

As you have installed recently, you can help me to make it work.

Hi Nilesh,

You will definitely find your way through if you use the mRouter3 beta software.

Remember that you will still need to have the Nokia Phone Connection Manager and mRouter still running, in addition to this one.

Also, thought it would be just worth asking whether you have d/loaded the latest PC Suite software downloaded from the Nokia website.

You also might need to carry out the registry change required by Microsoft for the Bluetooth changes to work. All of these can be found on google...sorry, I had the links before but somehow have lost track of them...

Hope you get through.

1. Using Add /Remove Programs, (sorry but yes, yet again!) remove the current version of Nokia PC Suite installed on your laptop.
2. Download the latest version of PC Suite specifically for the Nokia 6600 (http://www.nokia.com/nokia/0,8764,42289,00.html) and also use the Registry Cleaner, if deemed necessary.
3. Download the mRouter 3 Beta from http://www.intuwave.com/index.php?page=105 or from http://www.intuwave.com/index.php?page=mrouterbeta (but don’t install any software yet).
4. Check that the Bluetooth card on your laptop itself is working (possible ways of checking this could be by checking that the Blue indicator on the laptop, if it has one, is glowing).
5. “Pair” you mobile and the laptop. This can be done by using the “Serial Port” on the Bluetooth menu (right-click on the Blue “B” in the taskbar and use “Quick Connect”, “Serial Port” and then search the devices. NOTE that during this pairing, you could get an error message saying that the connection failed. Don’t worry, it is perfectly normal! Once the pairing has been done, you can also set the pairing to be “Trusted” so that you don’t have to confirm the connection every time you want to use this service.
6. Carry out the registry changes as detailed at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;811235. If u r uncomfortable doing this, you might want to “back-up” the registry before doing so. IMPORTANT: Once the changes to the registry are done, you WILL have to restart the machine.
7. Now install the downloaded PC Suite (also remember to include the SDK Connectivity option on the setup screen). This should install the PC Suite, the mRouter and the Nokia Connection Manager on your laptop.
8. Once this is done, you might want to restart the machine again.
9. On restart, install the mRouter 3 beta downloaded earlier.
10. Once the installation is complete, use the Blue “B” on the task-bar and create the connection with the serial port of your computer to the mobile. This connection, once done will be automatically picked-up by the Nokia PC suite and then you should be able to use the Nokia PC Suite.
11. I am sure this works because I’ve done this on two different machines with identical configurations and two different Nokia 6600 phones.
12. It definitely works with Windows XP SP2 since that is what I have on both the machines.
13. I’ve also tried and successfully connected the phone to my laptop using the infrared connection over mRouter 3 Beta.

Hope this helps. And all the best yet again!

Hi! the_blues,
I have follwed those steps 2-3 times but stil no luck.
I have tried making connection using Infrared device.Via Infrared I was getting Nokia connection but Infrared connection was droping every 2 second.

So, NO luck that side also.

Now I give up. Talked with Nokia technical support also. They told me Wait for PC suite new version which support Service pack 2.

So, Kind of Waiting and waiting.

Do you have the firewall software installed on your machine? If "Yes", it might be stopping certain executable files from the PC to execute.

You will have to add these programs to the ALLOWED programs list. Specifically look out for files from the "Program Files\Intuwave\Shared\mRouterRuntime" folder and the "Program Files\Nokia\PC Suite for Nokia 6600" folder.

It is really surprising that you still cannot get through despite these steps.

Have a go anyway, it is definitely worth a try

I could not download mRouter 3 beta becasue its not available.

Hi Nilesh,

Unfortunately, I have not so good news for you. This is that the mRouter BETA Programme for version 3.0 has been stopped by the vendor. This means that you will not be able to download the beta software from their webpage.

But the good news is that their website also states that "In April 2005, Intuwave will launch The Intuwave Developer Website. Here you will once again be able to download m-Router and view associated reference material".

So, you might want to look for other sources or websites which might give you that software or wait till this developer website is launched.

It's your call now !

i had a same problem with my 3650 and bt connection. There is a very simple solution.Uninstall the bt software! (if you have xp sp2) After i did that, everything is going well. And there is simple explenation. The bt software (driver) and mRouter often using same ports to comunicate, and port "bumping",there is a problem. This bt software uninstall is worked on many bt devices...So try it,and inform as what hapened.

Good luck!
