I have a Nokia 6600 and have recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 510m laptop with integrated bluetooth (called Dell TrueMobile - WIDDCOM type device) functionality. The OS is Windows XP SP2 (home editiion).
I tried connecting the phone with the PC for synchronisation through PC suite but nothing happens...
I've tried almost everything available from all the posts on various sites like
a. Installing the latest PC suite software for 6600 downloaded from the Nokia website
b. Creating new serial ports (ignoring the already existing ones) on the Bluetooth - Advanced Configuration options)
c. The registry change as recommended by Microsoft for the Bluetooth device
d. Disabling the Windows Firewall functionality
e. Disabling the McAfee Firewall functionality
f. Pairing the two devices (and also establishing a TRUST connection)
g. Installing the Nokia PC suite on the same drive as the Windows folder i.e. on C: but in the default application path...
h. Contacting the Nokia support desk who had no clue what could be the issue
i. Contacting Windows support, who could only point me to the registry change required, which was already done !
but NO LUCK !
I can get as far as the point where the mRouter icon changes to indicate that the two devices have been "Connected"...not beyond that.
The "Connection Manager" does not recognise the phone. On the mRouter, when I select the "Change Device" or the "Connect to a Bluetooth Device" option, the phone does not show in the list.
Subsequently, on starting the PC Suite, the Nokia connection manager still indicates that no phone has been connected and therefore I cannot progress further.
Any ideas where the problems could be? Am really getting frustrated with this problem...

Ok i am not fimiliar with ur bluetooth devices. but win Xp does give some problems trying connecting with ur phone.
but in advance configration check ur baud rate 92100 because the phone usually connects on this rate.
and for the <(b. Creating new serial ports (ignoring the already existing ones) on the Bluetooth - Advanced Configuration options)>not recommended because the bluetooth makes its own ports! and for the mrouter just click on the port which u want 2 connect ur phone.

Hello everyone, I had bluetooth working perfect with PC Suite till like last week when I formatted my hd. I have a Kensington BT dongle (which I was using before, and it's working great with no prob) and now I installed the Widcom software and PC suite. I can't establish a connection at all between my N6600 and the bluetooth. Notice I didn't get to PC suite yet. All I'm trying to do now is:
1. Right click on the BT icon in my system tray....
2. Quick connect...
3. Bluetooth serial port..
4. Then my N6600 Name.
I already paired my PC with the phone and I can send files like pics or songs by right clicking on the file and then send and then the phone. But I can't establish a connection so that I can connect through PC Suite at all.
I'm using COM port #6 for Local Services and COM port #5 for Client Applications. I tried switching them around but still no luck.
Will appreciate it greatly if someone can help me with this issue. Thanks.[/b]
