I was wondering if i could access the phone's internal memory simply via bluetooth and without the Mobile Phonetools...can i buy a bluetooth adaptor for my laptop and just set up a connection between the phone and the laptop without the MPT...so i can send pictures from and to the phone or maybe mp3s?

No, you will need both the BT dongle and software like MPT to setup Internet connection.
If you want to edit your phone's seems (change carrier logo, upgrade firmware, etc), you will need a data cable to do that. BT will not work.

You can transfer ringtones and games via a palm with bluetooth (e.g., T3)

How to do you transfer Java Games using Bluetooth on a Palm? How do you do it on a computer? MPT only seems to give you access to the sound, movie, and picture folders, as well as calendar and phonebook.

MPT no good for games. Drag/drop the .jar file to the OBEX Object Push icon in your "My Bluetooth Places"

It will work fine to transfer pics and ringtones. Games will work also, but it's not as simple as just using the OBEX object push. Here is how to do it:
---------------------------------------------------You should have an icon in the status bar of the PC next to the time. DOUBLE CLICK IT. You should see "Motorola phone OBEX object push" this is not normally the obex file you drag and drop the games into. Once you are they anyway on the left-hand side of your screen should be some options, one of these should be "View devices in range" CLICK IT. If you have previously set up the Bluetooth correctly then it should show your phone in range. You would need to make sure that the phone has Bluetooth powered on.
CLICK ONCE on the icon of the phone and on the left you should see some more options and one which says "discover services" CLICK IT.
This will then bring up another set of icons which you think you have already seen, but here is where you drag & drop your .jar files into the "OBEX OBJECT PUSH ON MOTOROLA PHONE" and then it will attempt to connect to the phone and install the games. "

At least you are able to replace the carrier logo on startup and power down without a data cable (using the DEbrander Java tool) if images 'custwakeup.gif' and 'custgoodbye.gif' are on the phone.

My PC recognizes my Motorola V551 phone via bluetooth. But not able to connect to it. PC displays an error message "Connection Failed".
What to do? How can it get connected? Please help me.
