If I want to retain my service providers mobile web links do I need to just flash and not flex????
I have a moto v300 that I want to update to resolve some problems I have with it but I don't want to lose the quick button (top right of keypad, bottom right of main menu) link to t-zone (T-Mobiles mobile web service...)
So what removes the branding, flashing or flexing????
If I apply an unbranded flex and flash to an unlocked phone will I get the subsidy message on startup? If so, I believe I can remove it with some seem editing so not too worried about that.
Also, I believe that both flexing and flashing does not change whether the phone is locked to a particular service provider... is that true...?
Thanks in advance...

I am pretty sure flashing the phone only will not remove your provider's web links, etc.
Flexing will remove the branding of phone.

That depends of the type of flash files you choose. The branded ones will lock your phone to a provider and you will need to unlock it using a code or a smart clip device.
However, there is a F9 flex that has a false message of inputting subsidy code during startup. That is a hoax and you can remove it through seem editing. I am not sure if that was what you are refering to.

Not true. Read the last two pages.

Ok, so if I stick to using the flex and flash that you recommended in a reply to a previous post of mine. I think they are flex/flash files that are linked to a guide on these very forums... I should be ok, and not end up locking my phone or having the subsidy message on startup, hoax or not.

I know for a fact that .45R flash I hosted will not lock your phone. I am using that right now.

^^^ From a reply you posted yesterday. I can get these files from the flex/flash links in the vxxx flex/flash guide on these forums. I think the url goes to gizmos.dns2go servers... are those files ok to use?

I didn't test all the files I have on there. However, I know the E9 and .35R, .45R work. You will have to me the call on which flash to use.

ok, last question I promise!!! Does it make a difference which country the phone is going to operate in? as in which flex and flash can be used? It's ok to use the flex's/flashes linked from your guide to update a UK based Moto V300... I presume it has to be ok as all phones must have the same standards/flex to be able to roam etc... stupid question I guess, I think I've answered it myself lol.
