I think I have paired the phone and my T3 correctly, I used the Palm driver for the Motorola V500 in the Palm 'phone link' app.... SMS partialy works, I can retrive messages from the phone, and send messages to the phone, but the phone will not actually 'send' the message out, on the phone I have to go into the outbox and 'resend'...
When I try to use Web Pro to access the internet... the Palm seems to loop through the following messages... Initlalizing Cingular GPRS, then 'Signing on' (with a picture of a book), then 'Sigining on' (with a picture of two hands shaking).... Then back to the 'Initalizing' again... Thats it....
What am I doing wrong... do I need another driver for the palm?
Thanks in advance for any help!

I'm trying to set up my T3 with the v551 and I'm having the same problem. Though, I have yet to find the perfect combination of settings to be successful (from searching the web). Can you give some insight?
Thanks!

I see only questions and no answers. Just joined the forum so perhaps I'm doing it wrong. I'm having the same delema with V551 and Palm T3. Can anyone tell me the solution and/or where to find help to solve it? Direct email would be fine too:
k5baa@att.net.
Thanks!

I cannot beleive that no one has replied to this with an answer.
I am using a Tungsten E2 with a V551 phone and cingular service. I have got sms and web browsing working.
Hopefully these instructions will be helpfull.
First go to http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads/phonelink.html and update your palm with the new Phone Link Update to support your phone.
Second, in the palm go to the bluetooth icon and use the setup devices wizard to set up your phone.
Third, go to the phone setup at the top of the screen.
Fourth, click on the phone connection button, setup your phone to be discoverable on the bluetooth, and follow the prompts. Make sure you select motorola and V551 model or whatever your phone model is.
Fifth, on the phone setup screen you can now setup the data service, so click on the button next the the icon of the world. Select yes on wether or not you have a high speed carrier. Select your location, mine was USA. Then select your carrier, for cingular, which is the one I setup, use the Cingular WAP GPRS setting.
At this point you should be able to use sms messaging and connect to the internet using the gprs connection on your v551 phone.
Pretty kick ass, if I say so myself.

Thanks... The above instructions, using the V551 setting, allowed me to connect my new Motorola V557 to my Palm TT3 and then on the Internet for browsing and collecting email.
