Anybody have any thoughts on this? Both seem to be pretty good tri-mode phones. Camera isn't important to me. I need to know about call quality, signal strength, and battery life. Thanks.

I have mixed feelings on these phones but hope this helps. The battery life on the 6100 appears to be lower than average from what i can tell with the signal strength being to close to call from what i have seen.
I have seen far to many of the 6100's come back for repair or exchange with unhappy customers but in the past motorola has put out some crapy products ie. t710, 720 and 730, and also i am already getting way to many people saying the v710 sucks. suprisingly i haven't seen many 265's come back.
so here is my delema. Usually I like LG but i've had bad luck with the 6100. Usually I HATE motorla but have had decent luck with the 265.
So when it comes down to it, if i where force to choose i would very reluctantly choose the 265. But i don't have to choose so i am buying a samsung

Thanks for the feedback. I'm now considering a Samsung a670 rather than the other two. I'd like the security of a tri-mode, but I haven't ever had my phone drop into analog. My current phone is the a310 and I love how Samsung phones are consistently made well.

i think that you should spend the extra money and get a samsung 890. the 670 was a good phone but it is starting to get old. And anyway since you are stuck with this phone two years, what is a little extra money. Especially if you are elligible for ne2 credit the phone would only be 149.

Great info! I had the same question as InjunJim. I've always had Audiovox in the past. Was all set on the LG7000 till I realized it was digital (duh@me). Going to check out the Samsung models.
Thanks!
edited to add: The 890 is a great looking phone but digital. I travel through a lot of rural areas so need tri mode.
