Im buying an unlocked moto v300 and i want to use it with cingular. My problem is that the v300 is only a tri band phone and dosent have 850mhz band which cingular uses sometimes. no one has been able to give me a straight answer and tell me if that will effect me in Princeton NJ were i live???

I did a little hunting for you... In Mercer county, Cingular has 25 mHz of 850 and 30 mhz of 1900 (x-ATT). you shouldn't have any problem making or receiving calls.

If there is a problem or question about 1900MHz you should look at t-mobile's coverage map... t-mobile doesn't use 850MHz, so if you are in that particular area where there is t-mobile's coverage, you should be covered by all 1900MHz towers of any company...

I did my hunting at www.fcc.gov - follow the links to the ULS. you want to choose the CL and CW frequency bands, then choose "geosearch" to choose state and county information.
I think the most interesting part is reading up on pending license applications - often there are attachments including maps / legal filings / etc.
