i never knew that fixed the blackout problem. when the black screen was an problem about a year ago, we had to send the s105's in. there was a 'silent recall' as t-mo put it, defective boards or lcds.

Well g'dam... Thanks for that info. My S105 just started the exact same behavior - with the display blacking out after moving the lid. Turning the backlight off did stop that problem.
AND AMAZINGLY, I was able to turn the backlight back on - and the problem is still gone! Backlight off then on seems to have fixed the problem completely!
My local T-Mobile guy is going to be upset. He almost had me sold on a new service plan and phone.
Thanks for that info!

Hello, i'm new here and would like to ask something. Pertaining to above, i tried to turn the back light off and it kind of solved the screen blackout problem, but it only for sometime. few week later, the phone back to normal whereby it will blackout after awhile. Its quite troublesome for me to restart the phone each time, due to my phone was lock to T-mobile and I need to key in the temp unlock code each and everytime retstarting the phone.
Anyone could help ?
Rgds,
David

Mine is doing the same thing... turning the backlight off seemed to fix it for a few days, but now it will black out even without the backlight feature on.
I am willing to pay for a new phone but unfortunately I really don't like any of the phones that T-mobile offers these days. I would really like a Samsung N330 but they are only for Verizon.
