Have you added the sidekick unlimited option to your current voice plan? You must have that option for the sidekick to work

-Verify GPRS/GSM connection.
-Ensure that your SIM card is inserted all the way in.
-This occurs when your account with T-Mobile has not been activated yet. The process could take up to 48 hours.
-On the bottom left corner, there should be the antenna icon. If the antenna icon is flashing the words "DATA OFF" do the following:
1.Remove the SIM card from the device.
2.Restart the device.
3.From the Jump screen, press the Menu button and select Controls > Wireless. Make sure that the Allow GPRS Data Roaming check box is selected. Press the Done button.

For most Sidekick 2 problems go to http://support.t-mobile.com/knowbase/root/public/tm21905.htm?

if you need additional Support obviously contact Tmobile at 18009378997 or *777 from you cell phone

Ok, no need for 3 posts to get an answer. Again, your phone is basically useless in canada. once on a sim outside of tmobile none of the data features can work, and text messaging may also never work.
