Hey there everyone, just found this forum, read some posts and it looks like a great place to ask this. I'm currently with sprint but am strongly considering moving to verizon because my fiance uses them and our calls would be free (or so she has told me!)

She's using the LG 4500 (hope i got the model right) and i am trying to avoid that one since I don't want to get our phones confused unless you all say I should get it.

I'm strongly considering the motorola but have heard good things about the samsung as well. Is it true the samsumg doesn't have speakerphone? if that's the case is there a way to compensate for it (some sort of hands free kit)?

I can't wait to hear some informed opinions on this

I've been faced with the same quandary myself (Moto 265 vs Samsung 670). I decided I'll try out both. Verizon gives you 15 days from the day you sign up to basically evaluate as many phones as you want. My plan is to initially get the Moto for myself and the Samsung for my wife. If neither seems to fit well, I'll try out the LG VX6100 (similar in features to the Moto).

You're correct about the Samsung. There is no speakerphone, and it's all digital, as opposed to tri-mode for the Moto & LG. You can get a headset to compensate for the lack of speakerphone.

I used to be w/ Sprint before switching to Verizon 2 years ago. Loved Sprint's call clarity, but they didn't have enough coverage where I am. Thankfully, I haven't had any problems w/ Verizon. My only complaint is their limited number of phones.

Your fiancee's right. You'll be able to call her phone for free. You may also want to consider having her switch her plan to a Family Share plan. They're now including two phone lines in the price of the plan, and she can sign up for a new plan at any time. Good luck with your choices!

Hey thanks for the response. In regards to call clarity, would i experience an improvement with a trimode versus the digital only phone?

That's awesome i'll be able to call her for free, since she's really the only one besides my family that I ever call!

Not necessarily. It all depends on what kind of coverage you get in your area. If you have mostly digital, you should be OK w/ the Samsung. If there are spots where digital fades & you pick up an analog signal, definitely go w/ the tri-mode. Remember, just because you lose digital signal doesn't necessarily mean you'll pick up an analog signal. It may just be a dead zone.

Greetings, I have the Samsung SCH-A670, and I travel frequently with it and have absolutely no problems staying on verizon's digital network, even in what I would consider rural areas. The call clarity on this phone is spectacular, better than most phones I've had, and I've had plenty with all of the major service providers, and Verizon by far is the best at least in my area and when I travel. Dont worry about that whole analog feature. When I did have a phone with analog, I rarely used the analog option on the phone because the phone was almost always on digital. The one time I used my phone in analog, the signal was horrible, and it almost completely drained my battery after being on the phone for 30 minutes. The best feature about the samsung phone is the voice service. You do not have to train the phone to your voice. I've never had a phone that can do that. The picture quality on the camera is wonderful and the video is a nice feature, that I really don't use. My only gripe with this phone is that if you use the camera continuouslly throughout the day the battery will be almost drained. I highly recommend this phone.
