May have to get a specifc usb cable, or try a different that particular ub cable may be dead

The easy studio sometimes does not recognize the correct COM port, even if the driver is installed properly.
Try Mobile Master (http://www.mobile-master.com). If it finds the phone, then the connection is ok, and the easy studio has a problem.
