Hi all!!
I have a sgh-e300, and I would like to know how to connect it to my PC.
I have a USB data cable and Easy studio, but it doesnīt work. Easy studio simply canīt find my phone. In ES I can choose between COM1, COM2 and COM3, but my cable is on USB port. Is there any way I can make it work????
Thanks!

on WinXP, right-click on 'My Computer' and select 'Properties'. Select 'Hardware' tab and click on 'Device Manager'. Double-click 'Ports' and see if your USB cable is listed there. If it is, then it should list the com port right next to it. If not, you can right-click and select 'Properties' and see it there. Then you can configure your ES and it should come up after that. Hope that helps.

Tnx for the reply. I did all as you said. The comp sees data cable as COM3 port. So I modified the ES to com3 and now, when I hit refresh button, a new window pops up and says: LOADING THE MSīs SMS DATA 0/3744358. Then the numbers on the right side start rolling downwards, and after a while, numbers on the left start counting. So, something is happening. But what??? The number on the right is three million something, and after about half an hour, the number on the left is 160. So it would take like 3 months to download complete.... Iīm really confused.....

Hey!
I saw you have the exact same problem as I do, so I registerd to at least tell you what I've come across.
On this link, it says that sgh e300 does not support USB connection, which sounds a bit stupid since it's just a matter of some drivers. It is really confusing, that windows normally detect new hardware, but the program refuses to connect with it.
So my question is, does a similar cable exist, which does not use a USB connector but rather something else? Since IrDa isn't good with samsung mobiles, I really wish to find another way than buying IrDa cable..
Regards.

You should use Easy GPRS instead of Easy Studio as Easy Studio is not for E300. From what I saw from your post, your cable and drive is working which is good. What you need is the right S/W.

Hi all,
I'm experiencing pretty much the same problem. I cannot send files to my samsung sgh-e600 through IrDa. My laptop detects and connects to my phone, but when i try send a file it comes up with an error stating the following, "The transfer failed. An error occurred while Wireless Link was connecting to the other device. No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it".
Any ideas how i could resolve this problem? and perhaps why it is doing this? I just go this phone and discovering this glitch is really dissapointing.
Thanks

I use Easy GPRS which is the right software (as you mentioned) for this model (downloaded from samsung official site), but it still does not connect to the phone.
Thanks for input though.

erXon,
Your problem seems to be different from krunoz. Your problem may related to a lot of things like driver not installed properly, wrong setup in GPRS or wrong cable used. Check the following if you have not done so:
- Check Device Manager for proper install of the usb-to-serial driver and remember which COM port is assigned.
- In setup of Easy GPRS, choose the same COM port as the usb-to-serial driver and select 230400 for speed (it is the speed that works for my E316), if it doesn't work for you, try other speed like 115200.
If it still doesn't work, it could be that you bought a wrong cable which is not compatible with your phone.
