It seems there are alot of people on here asking how to get files onto their phones, so I decided to write a guide telling you the easiest ways.
Pictures
Via wap:
Goto: www.samsungmobile.com, register a free acount then goto the play menu, click photo club and you should then see a photo studio tab click this then Launch mobile studio, it could take a while to launch but once it has you can select your phone and upload images, edit them then save them to an online photoalbum which you can then access via wap and download your images.
Via Bluetooth:
Make sure your computer bluetooth is set to be visible not hidden.
The goto: Settings > Connectivity > Bluetooth > My Devices > Search new device (activate bluetooth if it asks) select your computer enter a code, a box should the pop up on your computer screen saying samsung sgh-d500 wishes to pair with you and it will ask you for a code, enter the code you put into your phone then find your computer on the list of devices select options and authorize device, this will allow your computer to send files to your phone without you having to click yes everytime.
Now go into your bluetooth program select send file or object push the browse through your file's untill you find the picture you wan't to send then select send. The picture will go into the images file in your "Funbox"
Infrared: Turn the infrared on your mobile phone on, depending on the software you are using either right click on the file and select beam file, send via infrared or in the Sent To: option in windows xp select Infrared Device. If you have none of these options go into the program you use to manage infrared and send the file by browsing your file's then sending.
Cable: Sorry but I don't know because I have never used a cable with samsung. I would be happy to add it in if someone knows..
Movies
Note: You will only be able to play movie's on 3gp enabled device's, im not too sure which phones can and cannot play video file's but if you can record video the chance's are that you can play it.
Install and open the program, click on file then add browse your files untill you find the video you wish to convert make sure it is set to convert to 3GP and click encode. Once this is finished send the file via bluetooth (using above method) via infrared (also above) if you have access to an ftp you could use that or if your phone supports email, email it to yourself.
Ringtones
Download Coding Workshops Polyphonic Ringtone Wizard from http://www.polyphonicwizard.com/ for polyphonic phone's or there is a non polyphonic version there.
Now search on google for the ringtone you want followed by free midi download. Have a look untill you find the version you want, download it (right click, save target as if your having trouble) then open up Polyphonic Ringtone Wizard, click add midi file to your phone, select the file from the directory you downloaded it to, follow instructions untill you get the wap address which links to your computer (numbers seperated by dots) add a new bookmark to your phone with this address as this will be the same for every ringtone you upload. Open the link and download (this will not cost much as midi files tend to be small)
Bluetooth, Infrared & cable: simple search google for the song you want followed by midi free download, download the version you want and send to phone.
Games
To download games to your mobile phone you need to download the following things:
And of course the game you want to download I recomend using this site:
http://315.fiberworld.nl/d500/games.html
Although it says the games are for the D500, they should work on most other samsung phone's with MIDP 2.0 (this website is good as you don't need to use JAD maker because you can download both the jad & jar files)
So first find the game you want to download (using site above or any other) Some games you download will only be a .jar file if this is the case you need to open JADMaker and drag the .jar into it, it will make a .jad file in the same directory.
Now open Polyphonic phone wizard, go file, and add new java midlet, select the .JAD file you made or that came with the game and follow instructions untill you recieve a wap address (numbers seperated by dots) enter this into your phone and hopefull when you select download game you will see the scary clown pop up and it will tell you its downloading. Once the file has finished downloading your wap will dissconenct and you can play the game. If it doesn't work, the game is probably not compatible with your phone, try searching for games specifically for your phone model.
For the older free version of polyphonic ringtone wizard you can email me at 4 0 1 k i l l @ g m a i l . c o m (no spaces!) and I willk send it to you.
Bluetooth:
Have a look at this, its more complicated but if you want to be able to transfer games via bluetooth it will work, its just fairly complicated.
http://315.fiberworld.nl/d500/ It is made for the D500, but should work for other phones aswell, this guide may also work for infrared.
MP3's
Probably the simplest thing to download to your phone
Bluetooth: Send (use same instructions as sending picture just replace picture with MP3)
WAP: this is pretty simple, there are loads of site's you can download MP3's from just copy the address of an mp3 file into your phone's browser and it will download th file for you.
Infrared: Same as bluetooth (remember to active on your phone)
Hope this helps some people, sorry my game links and guides are for D500 but I havent owned any other samsung's so its all I know.

When you send over to the phones several files at once, is there are way to avoid having to stand by the phone and saying yes to allow the file to transferred to the phone all the time?
Thanks

After being paired up and authorised with my computer, i cant seem to send any files to my phone but yet when i send stuff from my phone to my computer - it works!!?!!
Tried using a friends phone, they can receive stuff i send them but i dont receive anything they send me!? (even though ive paired up and authorised them)
Is there something im missing or is bluetooth working just in one way?
Could this problem be a service thing or just a phone thing?
I would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
Thanks

My settings are:
My bluetooth activations on.
My devices shows my computer and all the phones that i have paired up with but at this very moment im not trying my bluetooth thing out with all the devices simultaneously, im just trying to sort this problem out firstly with just my computer and my phone.
My phones visibility is always on.
I have also tried the secure mode both on and off!
I know that my computer recognises my phone (it shows my phone name clearly on screen)

Hi
I can upload pics, mp3s, images etc to my phone using infrared port to my laptop. Have experienced one problem where I accidentally uploaded a .wma file to cell phone and now I can't seem to remove it or access it. Also I downloaded an mp4 using WAP, I stored it under my music folder and now I can't seem to delete it or move it to my videos. Any idea how I can delete these two files, the .wma and . mp4?
If I have to reset my phone completely will this delete all downloaded images, tones, mp3s, etc? Please any help on this would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Boodhun
