Well, I'm happy to report that it worked. Seems like the original MIME settings were incorrect, the change sorted the problem.

evenflow: sign up for any free online homepage-making site (sorry for my english) and just upload whatever wallpapers you have and type in the adress for example www.freewebsites\evenflow\blablabla.jpg
same thing goes to .midi files!

or you can just surf the web and if you se a litle picture about the size of your mobilescreen then just right-click on the image; image properties, and type the adress on your mobile using gprs/wap to download it

btw if you send me an e-mail I can give you some adresses to some websites you can download many ringtones for free, just using gprs and everything is free, and no need to sign up either, you just pay for the gprs(information sent and recieved)

Instead of making your own wap-sites or buy expensive cables, visit www.eaid.dk/mobil and use the english version og e·uploader. You will find a direct link in the bottom of the page (where the text is in english..)

You can upload midi, pictures and programs and it is for free icon_smile.gif

I know this is an older post but I still wanted to say thanks for posting this link. I had been searching for a way to get ringtones to my phone, and this one worked perfectly! icon_biggrin.gif

Cost of cable & software for phonebook/calendar only update only cost me $30 total including usb cable.

I presume u guys (on the cable) are talking about rings/wallpaper instead?

From what I understand, this particaular cable choice has been around for almost a year though with earlier versions of stuff.

WHile I wish to be able to do my own rings or wallpaper without calling or recieving (prefer cable anyway), its mostly due to cost.

I refuse to pay more than free for any ringtone or wallpaper.
Especially since my replacement phone has 10 times the rings that my previous nokia had.

And it only had 5 user customizable ones anyway, so I stuck with my altime favorites.

With my new one (a T731 motorola) I would probably use a lot more customizing but dont see the need to spend $$$ more than buying the phone.

I considered a even better phone on my plan but didnt want to pay more than free to upgrade to new phone (after rebates).

Um guys the cables have always been cheap.

Even Radio Shacks cable is cheap. Never has been anywhere near $100.

As a best friend of an employee of RS, I know it hasnt been.

In fact I recently bought both the cable & software for $30 total.

Cable by itself might have cost me at most $10 in the last year.

I didnt have the phone requireing this particular cable till just last month, but I knew about it even then, since I was considering Motorola as a future replacement phone.

For me I would much ratther use a serial or USB cable to update most uses of my phones.

Why, because even if the cable is expensive, the various costs end up costing more.

On my previous phone (a nokia), the cost of adding rings & wallpapers to it, would cost from free to $5.95 per item.

With the cable, it was 100% free, all the time.

The only thing I didn tlike is I had to customize a phonelist just for the phone.

Wherase the current setup I have is 100% direct from Outlook Contacts.
But I am missing out on custom ringtons & wallpaper not already in the phone.

But if I cant do that, it means nothing, I dont even plan to change the physical look (why, its already kewl silver, and I dont care about branding my phone a sports or theme phone anyway).

I only went color on the previous phone to make it different than wifes identical nokia phone.

This time we have totally different phones.

oh another item.

Around here, its $4.95 per month to be able to do web or ring type stuff (even if its free elsewhere).

No matter what the Provider, I dont plan to pay a cent for any ringtone or wallpaper.

And since cables & software are needed anyway for major additions to phonelist(phonebook) it still makes sense to buy software for that update.

I had more than 100+ numbers to put in...

Are there any cable ways to get ringtones/wallpapers to Motorola phones (T731/T720)

this method is good...but I can't download the ringtone....it just opens the midi file and plays it, there's not an option to download it on my phone (Samsung A660)...do I have to input more coding??
