If I renew my contract and get a new phone (I have New Every Two credit), do I still have to pay an activation fee? Thanks in advance for any answers.

Thanks. What about for a second phone on an already existing second line? I want to renew my two-line Family Share plan.

New lines is the most important thing to a Verizon employee so go into a verizon store and say that you want to activate a new line and you don't want to pay an activation fee and if they say not possible go somewhere else until you find a verizon that will wave the activation. As long as your blunt that you will get a phone as long as they can wave the fee it probably won't be hard to get it done. If the employee says no, have them go ask their manager.

Well, I just confirmed it first-hand last night (at the Verizon store). There are no activation fees for contract renewals, for primary or other lines.

technically there is suppose to be a 15 dollar activation fee on new lines and an 11.25 equipment change fee on upgrades that arn't new every 2.

Sounds reasonable. This was a NE2 upgrade/contract renewal, so no fee. I think new line activation fees have gone up from $15 to $20 now. At least, that's what the VZW site seems to reflect.

Where are you guys seeing these numbers? New lines require an activation fee (new lines meaning a new phone number being activated, not a prior number upgrading) of $35, or for a secondary line $25. This can be waived often times online when ordering the new line during Friday through Monday (weekends). It used to be called a service-establishment fee. Sometimes there are promotions or indirect agents that sell VZW that will waive the fee. Equipment change fees are waived for upgrades, and if you change your equipment yourself online there isn't a fee. Certain customers have "higher value" and won't need to pay the equipment change fee anyhow. The fee for the equipment change is $20 when it does apply.
