Hi guys,
I'm a total spastic when it comes to this stuff so bear with me.
How can I download ringtones and wallpapers etc from this site on to my 6610? I don't have a data cable but does infrared work in the same way?
I tried to use the infrared between my phone and my laptop on a few occasions and it tell me that the data isn't compatible or something. I have TRIED to use the Nokia data suite but maybe I'm doing something wrong.
Can anyone help?
I would ideally LOVE to be able to use the infrared to download everything but I don't know...
Thanks!

This question has been asked countless times. Just do a search on transferring to a phone.

I searched for that info but I couldn't find anything to help me.
When I try and send a ringtone to my phone via InfraRed it tells me that the data is invalid.
Do I need a data cable? Is that the only way to do this?

its quite simple really!
1. goto the connectivity menu on your fone, and select infrared. infrared reception on your fone should now be enabled and will be indicated on the fone by a blinking icon in the top left corner of the screen.
2. place the fone near the IR emitter, the closer the better. Doubleclick on the PC Suite icon in the system tray (next to the clock in Windows) and click on the IR icon (the middle one) on the following screen that pops up. The program should detect your fone via IR.
3. in PC Suite 5.1 (ver 5.0 should work fine as well for the 6610), open up sound/picture converter edit your file and then click upload to fone.
and thats it really. you use the same steps to upload java apps and games, except you use the application installer in the pc suite.
hope this helps ya out...

A quick question:
Does your computer see the phone ?
(Turn infared on on the phone under Connectivity, and place in front of the computers IR port. Make sure that the phones IR is facing the computers IR and that the distance apart is between 50mm and 300mm)
The computer should pop up a message like 'another computer (nokia 6610) is connected' - or something like this...
If that is not happening check your computers IR port setting under START-SETTINGS-CONTROL PANEL- etc
Check that the IR is on and is working correctly.
If the computer is 'seeing' the phone the Nokia Suite should pick up the phone as well.

weird huh.
also the phone wont work with the datasuite that was made by M-A
