I looked through the other threads and I don't seem to see a problem that really fits mine. I am trying to run P2kman with my V551. I've used it before on my parents computer, and I used it on my computer in the past too, never having any problems. Recently though I had to format my hard drive, so everything was wiped out. I put p2k back on my computer and plugged in my phone and was following the directions (showing the wizard the drivers in the drv folder yada yada) but the thing is, my computer wont ask about the "other programs". When I first plug in the phone it says "Found new hardware: motorola phone v551" then right after that "motorola modem" and then I show it to the drv folder... it says that it is installed properly... and then just stops there. It wont allow me to do the other six things I'm suppose to instal and show to the p2k drv folder. I know I don't have a cable problem b/c it still works fine on my parents computer, but what changed on my computer that it wont work properly. Hopefully someone can help me. Thanks!

Does your parent's computer only had p2kman install or it also has pst installed as well?

some version of p2kman needs pst software to install to have it running.
PST is a program use by phone repair shops to upgrade firmware, etc. PST is not a freeware and is not allow to be posted here.

Any ideas how my parents computer may have it, and how mine before it got formatted had it? I don't remember ever downloading something like that, so I'm pretty sure it was preloaded if that is the case.
If I can't get this PST, does that mean I can no longer use p2kman on my computer and my cable is pointless? Or could I use some other version of p2kman?
And one last thing, is there any way to get the correct pst files from my parents computer and transfer them over to this one, assuming that the pst is the actual problem. Can you think of anything else that might be causing my problem?

There are other ways of getting this program.
From mine past install, I needed pst install to have p2kman functioning. It is just a suggestion and is not for certain that is the cause.

I activated my email under my profile now to make things easier.
I don't have access to my parents computer right now, so I can't get the pst from them if thats the problem.

You can't extract the files of pst from another computer to yours. PST is a exec files that needs to be installed.
