Your other problem could be your registry is now corrupt with you having made so many attempts at installing the driver. Log on to nokia.com and download the registry cleaner after running the freshly download software re-boot your pc before attempting to install the cable drivers again. Let me know how you get on please.

sinclairclones - thx for the tip but i did a registry clean both with the nokia registry clean and also Registry Mechanic. The registry is fine as it appears.

it seems that yer pc is not happy installing the drivers ..
have you uninstalled the original drivers first ??
could you do some screen prints and send them to me ?
I'll have another think,,
should be able to unpack the driver package,, I'll try that..
also I emailed you the file over my wifi link,, I will resend on good old copper in the morning..
try the uninstall first

As I said in a previous thread, I am having the exact same problem as you. There must be a fault with either the drivers or the cables connecting the 6230 because many of us are having this trouble.
Has anyone successfully connected a Nokia 6230 to a Windows xp pc?
