Nokia 6230 Windows XP + SP2 DKU-2 Problem!

Hello ppl.

PC specs

Microsoft Windows XP Pro + SP2 ( + all the latest updates)
AMD 64 3200+, ABIT AV8, 1GB KINGSTON RAMM

And protection applications
GIANT Antispyware, NOD32 Antivirus, Windows Firewall

My problem is....

I have just bought a new Nokia 6230 and a friend of mine gave me a DKU-2 cable. Since i didnt have a cd i downloaded the latest drivers for the PC suite from the Nokia website (v6.41). I run and install it fine up to the time that when i connect my cable to a USB port windows does not search for drivers to install. Although when i connect the cable to my phone also it tries to find drivers but fails again. I tried to download the DKU-2 drivers seperately but with still no luck and not even ending the installation properly. I really dont know what else to do...how am i gonna be able to use it?? Please if someone can help it would be great. If you want more info then ask me. Thx a lot in advance[/u]

This is because it needs drivers to communicate with your phone, least i think it is. If you have bought the phone you should of got a 6230 nokia cd with it?? Try searching for the drivers it requires on this disc.

i dont have the cd. But as it says in the Nokia website, the DKU-2 drivers are installed upon installing Nokia PC Suite. Well i installed the suite but when i cnnect the DKU-2 cable Windows does not find new hardware. Although when i connect the DKU-2 with my nokia 6230 it finds 'finds new hardware' but it cannot install the necessary drivers.I really really dont get it. I have been searching te net for days now for answers but nothing. Cant anyone help me?? Am i doing something wrong? Pls

I would install the USB drivers before installing the PC suite (just done this yesterday)

the PC suite will not see the phone UNLESS you install the USB drivers..

install the drivers BEFORE you plug the phone into your PC..

then install the Nokia Manager last.

what USB drivers? You mean the DKU-2 drivers?? Well i tried that with the latest drivers (v1.43) and i get this 2 errors:

1) "Error 1334. The file 'nmwcdlog.dll' cannot be installed because the file cannot be found in cabinet file 'Data1.cab'. This could indicate a network error, an error reading from the CD-ROM, or a problem with this package."

2)"Error:-1603 Fatal Error During Installation. Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information."

Also i saw in the nokia website that DKU-2 drivers are included in the Nokia PC Suite. What else do i need to do?

looks like the installation package is corrupt, try downloading it again or

add my email -edited- and I will email you my copy which installs no probs,, I am only suggesting that you install the driver first as that was what I read on another site and it worked 1st time..

Well first off thx for helping out.

Anyhow i downloaded through the link you told me and still the same. I tried to download other stuff like PC suite and it downloads ok. I think its the pack they have on their website that may have the probs.
