hi,
can anybody tell me how to assign tones in nokia 6230, and how to play save wav files, the ones in nokia 6600

what do u mean assign tones???????????????????
ahha! 6230 cant play wav files........and what do u mean how to assign tones? 6230 can only use midi and mp3 (and i think aac) for ringtones.......to transfer mp3 u need either bluetooth, inflared dongle or cable..

assigning tones as in, we can assingn a seperate tones for every contact.
and also am confused which to buy, the DKU cable or bluetooth,i only have mp3's and movie files to transfer from my PC

You have to assign each name to a group, then assign a ring tone to each specific group. As regards to which to get, I have the DKU-2 cable and also a card reader. Card reader's good but you have to keep on removeing the back housing of the phone to access it. Have you downloaded the Nokia PC suite? you can use that to click and drag mp3 or aac to your phone.

oh cool,
but am still confused about the cable, i heard that a DKU cable is better than bluetooth for transfering files, i ahve loads of mp3's and video files,

i use bluetooth.....cant get pc suite to detect it till now.......sigh.

DKU-2 cable will do you fine.
Only videos in .3gp format will work btw. No avi, no mpg.

if PC suite cant detect your bluetooth then how do you transfer ???????????????????
the videos i play in winamp are mpeg right?
