I just signed up with a T-Mobile family plan today and got a Motorolla v600 and a Samsung e315. Problem is that I can't make or receive any calls in the house, even though both phones say I have reception (I waver between 3-5 bars). I drove a couple streets down and both phones both register between 3-5 bars and I can make phone calls fine.
I called the cell phone store where I signed up and the rep seemed as puzzled as I was and told me to see what happened in a day or 2-- maybe it had something to do with the phone number transfer.
Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would call Technical Support and see if they have an ideas. Do you get a recording? dead air? dropped call? what do you mean you cannot call out? Can you receive Calls?

I can't call out-- no dial tone, no ringing. And I can't receive any calls either-- anyone trying to call me goes directly to VM and it shows up as "missed calls" on my phone. Only once was I able to get through to my VM but after 30 sec, I couldn't hear anything the VM was trying to tell me-- yet we were still connected.
I thought that maybe the phones could be defected, but 2 diff phones, 2 diff manufacturers...?

make sure you hands are nowhere near the antenna on the e315. Another family member of mine has that phone, and it does the same thing if your hand is over the antenna. As for the v600, the local tmobile store told me it wasn't the best phone to get. A lot of signal and call quality problems.

While inside the house, power the E315 off, then turn it back on: Go to settings, Network, manual network selection, chose a network, and register. This should help. This will also help when you call tech support.

If you can use the phone a couple of blocks away the the Hardware is not Defective it is a network Issue. Call T-Mobile, at bare min they can atleast put a service request in for you or tell you if there is a tower down and what the ETR is.
