I figured that would be the case. How good is your contract? I ask because if you can get out of yout Tmobile contract now and then start a new one through Amazon, sure you'd have to change your number but then you'd get the phone you want. Also, T-mobile's contracts (even for new lines of service) have been getting cheaper and cheaper, so odds are you wouldn't be forfeiting THAT much money in the process (especially when you factor in Amazon's $75 cash back with the V600).
Apart from that, I used to have Verizon a couple of years ago and thought they were just fine. In general I like the sound quality of CDMA better than GSM.
As with any carrier, though, they are better in some cities and worse in others, so you might want to ask some locals how good their service/reception is in your area if you decide to go that route.

nobody at t-mob i have spoken with has any idea of when the v330 will be released. none. pretty sad, but not the reps fault, so i didn't yell at them ...
i ended up ordering two v600s a few days before they got pulled; one for myself, one for my 70 y/o dad. i dig my fone, and have had no problems with it. my old man, though, hated it, and had me exchange it for a nokia 6010. go figure ...
i have spoken with two or three departments at t-mob in the two weeks since we decided to order the fones. each and every person i have spoken with has been kind, gracious, helpful and at least "sounded" like they were interested in answering my questions. no complaints as far as customer service is concerned.
reception has been exceptional!! i live in orange county, florida, and do some commuting down to polk county weekly. while i had verizon i would have trouble with reception at my house, at the end of my trips in polk city, and sometimes in between. with t-mob i have yet to have a dropped call!!
i am almost totally pleased with my 2-week old relationship w/ t-mob. i would have been really happy had they gotten me a v330 but, life ain't perfect ...
cheers!!

The problem with this is if you are planning on putting the line of service in your name (using your SSN) then you would have to discontinue your line of service and wait 90 days before reactivating, if you did reactivate then you would just restart your old account without getting a new phone.

V330 .... now that it's out there, what's the going opinion? We purchased two phones just a week ago, trading in our very old Nokia 3390's. I love the feel of the V330, but so far the call quality, the speakerphone quality & the ear piece quality all really stink. Hate to say it, but the fading Nokias had better call quality than the brand new supposedly wonderful Motorolas. Has anyone else had the same problems?? Could we possibly have received 2 bad phones? I was really wanting a quad-band for trips, and I don't think T-mobile has much for choices in that area.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

I have a V330 and I'm a little disapointed. They said it needs to be REBOOTED daily or it gets SLOW. My signal is not that great and the Bluetooth just hangs up sometimes with no reason.
The ear piece has features that make it beep for low Bat and incoming call, etc... but sometimes it just beeps at regular intervals w/o any reason, fresh charge, no calls coming in ????
I'm desperatly searching for a real + good antenna booster that replaces the screw in stub and one for the back adapter plug in antenna.
I like the video and the cam. I'd like to know how to turn off the beeps when you record a call....That would be cool and useful, otherwise its distracting.
I had a Nokia 6610 that had better reception and along with its ease of use , speakerphone,FM radio, and small size made it very handy for me.
I'm trying to get this 330 to a point where I like it as much as my 6610.
If ANYONE has any tips or tricks to adjust the recorder or knows where to buy REAL booster antennas like I'm looking for , Pleasee let me know at -chinup73@hotmail.com or post please !!!!!
This is a cool but weird operating phone, at least from my past experience with alot of phones.

Also.....If anyone knows what the additional beeps are for, I'd appreciate it.
BTW- The headset has turned off on its own at times too....
I dont know if I have a setting wrong ( if there is one ) or if its broke. It doesnt do it often tho.
