I thought of the very same thing - because I carry my phone in the coin pocket of my jeans.
Also, I couldn't get ahold of one of the blue phones - only basic silver. Anyone know how to get the blue casings and how to change them (front portion)?

if there are scratches on your screen, the only solution is to go to a sony-ericsson center and let them change your screen (costs about 20€)...
if you tell your handy-provider to send it it it'll cost about 90€...so don't
i dont think you can change the silver cover into a blue or red one, sorry
hope i was of help ^^

Cool - they will do that for you for such a little price? Of course i assume they are just changing it's cover, not the actual LCD screen?

For 15 dollars you can buy the housing of the t610 (which includes screen) on ebay.

well, if the screen is scratched or broken, SE doesn't replace it for free...so it costs a lot if you let the provider send it to them... but if you go to SE directly, the can change the cover easily... mine was broken a few weeks ago...so i went there and they replaced it...
the only change the broken cover...not the whole LCD =)

In the Philippines, the red front face plate is avialable for 800 pesos ($15). The amount includes the labor fee of the technician mounting the faceplate.

to remove the front cover you need to take the battery cover off, then slide the top section upwards lifty the clip to the left of the camera this may break but it is fine to re-use. then there are 2 star headed screws to undo aswell as the 2 below the battery and the front will unclip
