does doing this end up deleting my contacts as the reset says it will?!?!? if it deletes all my numbers and stuff, can I reload them from my sim card, or are they completely gone, it would be a disaster to lose all of those and attempt to replace

as long as you save your contacts to your SIM card, you'll be safe.

scottus, do a master reset on the phone under settings. Your unlock code should be "0000" unless you changed it.
