hum... download it from mobiledia and then you will be able to send it back to your phone...
For info, I've done the trick on my t300.
First time I get 480 Ko instead of ~200. Now, 4 trials next, I have 594 Ko free... Only things staying on the phone: 5 black and white logos... No more sounds, themes, games, or MMS templates!
In fact if you wait too much time (for example 13,2 sec) things will be reinstalled (it begins by images). I think that 5 logos staying is a good score
Contacts and Events have never been deleted (even after 5 resets) but others things yes (even games - but I only had free games). So my question now is does events and contacts take memory? (Is it better to keep only important contacts? events? lol just a question)

I've tried it on my T300 several times, and on the 3rd attempt, my phone hung and then caused a memory error(maybe... ) which caused my phone not to start properly. It displays a "Please wait" message followed with Sony Ericsson logo, and then restarts itself. It's a never ending loop. So I can't do anything with my phone except to bring it to Sony Ericsson service center. Luckily, my phone is on its warranty period. |
I registered on these forums just to warn you for the trick.
I've read the whole topic now and it seems only one person had the same feeling about the trick as me (although my phone still works fine)
Just imagine what this trick does ! I did the reset for about 4 times with times from 8sec to 13sec.I also noticed my settings weren't reset untill I tried the trick on 8sec so they must be deleted as last.
Now for the evil results, cause I warn you , this trick is dangerous no matter what people tell you
My pictures where gone,or they where WHITE SQUARES
---->The file-table for the images was writen, but not the images themselfs
Some of my games had a grey color and some gave an error when starting
---->Again,the file-table was writen, but the games werent on the memory completely
Gsm slowed down heavily when entering the sounds
---->Error when reading the file-table I guess
My theme's background was there, but my theme's desktop was gone
---->Partially removed theme
So I did a complete reset to make sure all things where back normal on my phone.
---->When I entered Images, all the previews where white squares and I had to wait about 3sec per images to get them all back.
I compare this trick with a win98 installation : If you remove the cd with 80%,you have a lot of free space, but not everything is installed correctly. But what if you remove your Phone's battery too early ?
You will feel like Funky Programmer, who has a phone with a non-working OS
I hope I have warned you enough for the trick. At least I'm happy that my phone is still working.I even have +-450kb of free memory after performing the total reset, wich is much more than before.

Those white squares seem to be not yet transfered pictures...
I did a reset and all pics were white frames, but after like 10 seconds they start popping up, like it's transfering them from ROM to RAM kinda. Each square filled removed some from the free space. And it only seems to do it when you view the picture the first time.
A normal reset is supposed to remove ALL downloaded stuff from the phone right? Except games? (Odd)
Anyway, in that case you can save some space by not accessing the My Picture option until you uploaded some of your planned pictures... that way it won't start moving ROM pictures to RAM since your new pictures will be on top. Just a theory.

That's what I was telling. But they only came back with my full reset and not when I did that crappy trick (ok,some pictures came back, but some became red crosses)

I've tried it a few times without any luck, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right.
After selecting "reset all", accepting the warning, and entering the code, I select "yes". The phone then says "wait". Do the 12-13 seconds start there, or am I supposed to let that part go all the way until I start counting?
I started counting immediatly after pressing "yes" myself, and it didnt work at all.
TIA

Hi there,
I am just wondering if the above procedure also unblocks the phone for use with other sims? Did anybody try this out? I am planning on buying a T300 from orange but would love to keep using my sim from Virgin Mobile wihtout any number transfere fees. After this procedure will it be possible?
Thank you

Hmm, got it to work now after 5 tries, dunno what I did wrong before. Cleared up everything in the phone except the games and images I've downloaded (took my ringtones though) and all my settings. Lost the gprs settings though.
Thanks for the trick mate

Great trick dudes!
I have a t300 and I'm about to try it...
Does it delete sms?
Anyone knows where to get a program to do a full backup before trying this? Can I backup games (e.g. those downloaded from mophun)?
Thank you!
