Since I've been working on making this work for days now I discussed my frustrations with a co-worker. She told me to try pluging in my phone to the USB cable and THEN connecting the cable to the computer. I did so and at initially got nothing icon_frown.gif . But then I went to set up and checked out the ports (which initially only showed COM 1 and COM 2) and to my suprise found a third option, COM 3. I clicked on that and suddenly all my info started loading up on easyGPRS! icon_smile.gif Hopefully this is something that will help other frustrated "newbies" as myself who don't always understand the computer lingo and because of this aren't too keen on making multiple changes to their computer set ups.
However, many thanks to all of you in this particular forum and others, who have taken the time to make the explanations as user friendly as possible even if that includes dumbing them down for us computer illiterate folks.
Good icon_clover.gif to all of you.

I'm still having trouble, I'm thinking about buying another cable (this time USB) but one that has a switch on it..

I would stick with the Serial cable because the OEM cable for the phone is Serial. Things will be more complicating with the USB (especially if your having problems with the serial) Trying looking for the OEM serial cable. I have one for my X426 and it was super easy to use. Ahhhh what the hell here you go :

This is the cable that im using. Comes with the software and everything that you will need. I couldnt get the unlocking or flashing software to work but that stuff is easily downloaded elsewhere.
