I have recently purchased a v600 off ebay and when I power it on it takes me to an unlock menu. its not the security code but someones special lock code they put into their phone, I have tried all the combinations you can think of to no avail. I bought i usb cable hoping I would be able to do something but have no clue what to do now. If someone could please steer me in the right direction it would be really helpful. thanx

Connect your phone with smartmoto software to view current security code, sim code, etc......

All you need to do is to install the smartmoto to puter. Plug your phone to puter and install driver when prompt. Run smartmoto and select desire feature.

i downloaded the software and when i checked for the phone it read...
searching for phone...found Motorola P2K, getting test interface...interface not found at first i installed all the drivers and it seemed to be working well but now, w/o changing anything I am continuously getting a little popup saying that a USB device not recognized and that windows didn't recognize it so it must be malfunctioning. what should I do from here? your help is appreciated

Try turning off the phone while plugged in and or switching to another usb port.

You should not get any error messages and the phone should light up blue for couple seconds if all is well.

Try the user code first and than the security code.
Are you sure it is not the subsidy code that the phone is asking for?

You can mod your phone using p2kman and tweak your phone settings to your like using xlr8 list codes.

You can flash your phone to a different firmware as some members have done.

Unfortuently, you can not unlock your phone or any moto phones using a data cable. You will need a device called a smart clip.
