seem to be aving problems unlocking my E710. I followed these instructions found on this forum, which work as it lets me use a different sim card ...
1> Type *#06# on your phone and write down your IMEI (you'll need it later) or get it from the back of your phone.
2> Put a simcard from another provider and power on your phone
3> At the "wrong card" message type: *2767*688YOURIMEI, for
example: *2767*68835363900065487#
(imei is 14 digits ignore the 3 digits after the slash "/")
4> Your phone will reboot and then your simcard from other provider will work
--this 4 steps is for a temporary unlocking, when you power of your phone
it'll be locked again, to permanently unlock it continue to step 5--
5> After your phone has rebooted on step 4, dont press any key or do anything,
just type this: *0141# and hit the send button
6> A message will appear telling you that your phone is personalized
7> Shut off the phone and enter the SIM of yet another carrier, Cingular.
8> At the "Enter SIM lock password" screen, enter eight zeros as in 00000000.
9> YOUR PHONE IS NOW UNLOCKED
all well and good, except......
when i put my original sim card back in, and turn the phone on, i need to enter the Sim Lock password and my imei number again. Every time the phone is switched off and back on again, i need to do this...
I have tried to enter the *0141# again but it says "ALREADY PERSONALIZED"
Anyone got any ideas???
I have a USB data cable so don't mind doing it that way as long as someone knows of some software that will defo work!!

why not check here for newer (unbranded) firmware and flash? that would remove the nagging unlock request everytime you turn it on.

i'm about to do it to my e715...too many problems with it right now. i got the first batch of e715's so i have the earliest (crappy) firmware...

Hi, i tried to follow your steps, but my handy is a german vodafone version. After entering the pin, i get the message "Sim Error - Enter Password" I tried the 8 zeros you mentioned later, but that didn't work. Any ideas?
I also changed the firmware to E710XXDF4, it worked, but didn't change anything depending the unlocking. Still asks for a password.
Any ideas or a software I can use?
Greetz,

did you change the IM*I number? i think when you flash the firmware, it takes the number from the firmware flash. you have to change it back to original.
flashing with the telcel firmware should not have a sim lock on it. i did it and never had to type in sim unlock code. the only thing i can think of is that it's not the phone but the sim itself. maybe there is a lock on the sim not the phone?
