I have an unlocked Nokia 6260 that I recently got from a friend when he upgraded to a new phone. I am on the Cingular network and the phone part works great. For some reason I can't get the web, MMS, Photo Messaging or any other functions to connect. I have tried inputing all of the settings for the APN's manually and am having no luck. Cingular hasn't been much help either. They simply tell me the phone isn't sold by them in the states and they don't support it. Does anyone have a clue as to how the Access Point information for this phone should be set up? I have tried everything including the settiings from my Siemens S56 and I just keep erroing out when I try to connect. Unfortunatly the friend that gave me the phone is on a different carrier so his settings are no good as well. Any help, or a point in the right direction would be much appreciated.

Go to this link and download the PDF file. It has all of the setting information for setting up your Cingular phone.
http://developer.attwireless.com/
You might have to search for APN or Access Point Settings

AFTER COUNTLESS HOURS WITH CINGULAR, THEY HAVE NO CLUE. BUT YOU CAN GO TO FOLLOWING WEBSITE AND ALTHOUGH UR PHONE IS 6260, USE 6230 SERIES AND NOKIA WILL SEND THE SETTINGS TO YOUR PHONE (U HAVE TO ENETER THE CODE THAT THEY GIVE YOU ONLINE) AND IT WILL WORK.. JUST LIKE THAT

hey wjohns4...
i've found the link where you'll be able to get settings for your phone. Just copy and paste this link: https://secure.mouse2mobile.com/clients/nokia/americas/wap/ Go through this setup guide.... and when they ask for phone model number, just select the 6230.... when asked to enter your mobile phone number, enter 1 then area code then your number all together. And finally select Send Settings You will eventually receive a Text Message with the settings... just save and set as default. After that, have fun...

If you guys have any questions on WAP/Browser settings with Cingular on unlocked phones, Customer Care won't be able to help much. We have a database with settings we can send to your phone but if it's a Model that Cingular never supported, it won't be in there.
Aside from that, we have access to general settings. Best thing I can suggest when it comes to Nokia's is the mfgr. website, or www.nokiahowto.com

I have the same problem, but couldn't even get my 6260 to receive the text message from Nokia web site that wjohns4 found.
How can I enable receiving of the text messages on a brand new unlocked phone? Need help!

thanks to the contributors of this post, I was also able to get my internet settings to work on my unlocked nokia 6260.
Now the problem is that the signal keeps fading in and out since it's not locked to the cingular network. any ideas?
