Hello all,
I use Samsung E700 cellular. I have faced a lot of troubles but also achieved success, so I wanted to tell something in this regard. I know how it feels when the cable does not work. Having the cam in the cellular becomes almost valueless then for you cannot save them permanently or even cannot delete older pics to take new ones when the memory is full.
1. If your phone turns off when you insert the data cable into it, it means you are using a wrong cable.
2. The latest version of software ("PC Studio") is not good. Use the older version always, called "Easy Studio".
3. When you have trouble, try changing the ports (COM1, COM2 etc.)
4. Generally speed does not create much problem. Leave it what comes default.
5. If you find it says, Sim not initialized , then note it. You will see that not selecting all port results this message. Selecting a particular port shows this message. Take the port as the correct port and always try through this.
6. Some suggest to turn off the phone, connect again, then turn the phone on and similar procedures for the above SIM not initialized error. It does not work for me. And I do not think that it should work either. Still, you can try it.
7. Oh yes, make sure that you install the port and the USBs correctly. It does not have an alternate, for sure.
8. SIM not initialized is an error of the software. It is not a problem due to the port or anything. Some say if there is no enough memory in the SIM for storing SMS, phone numbers etc., then this happens. This is a simple bullshit.
9. You will not that when SIM not initialized error message comes, the bulb light in taskbar is active. It shows your phone connected, but some problem. When the bulb is on, it will show status " unknown " than " offline ".
10. With the older version (Easy studio), right after running the program, you will see a dialog box for a few seconds that it is loading some data. This is true whether you connected the phone or not. This will always happen. If it loads nothing like this (after you run the program), there is error in the software. Remove it and then re-install. Use older version for safety and success.
11. If your phone is connected well, then after running the software, it will show the dialog box (The one I talked about above) and then it will close and then AGAIN it will show the same dialog box, loading some things and you will see that this time the things (phonebook etc) are being loaded from your phone. So when the phone connects sound, then it will show the dialog box again. Vice versa, when you see the dialog box for the second time then it means that your phone has connected. Same time you will see that the bulb becomes active on the status bar.
12. Do not forget to try plugging the phone into different USB ports in your PC if you have more than one.
I hope this information helps you all. Best of luck.
Thanks,
Tanvir Chowdhury
