Just wondering if anybody could help me please!?!
i have a data cable which has worked once before, but now it doesn't seem to want to.
The cable was working at one time, now it just fails to connect, with the error message:
"Cannot open the port and this program is switched in offline mode.
After, try to switch in online"
What does this mean?
i dont even get the option to reload data.
Please can anyone help me???
Thanks!

do you connect the phone before or after opening app? also, you have oem cable or aftermarket cable? also, what com port is the program set to right now?

i've tried connecting the phone before, during and after starting the program, but doesnt seem to make a difference. apart from it sometimes showing the error message 'sim not initialized' (i think). not sure what you mean about after-market cable. i've tried using all ports (1, 2 & 3) and also using different speeds. dont know whats happened to it.

OEM = original equipment manufacturer
aftermartket = not ooem cable...
does the cable have official samsung logo? if not, it's aftermarket. anyways, you stated that it worked before so it's probably a setting somewhere that has changed. is it usb or serial cable? if it's usb cable, look in device manager and see what port your usb cable using and set your port in easy studio accordingly...

usb cable on com3 on 9600? wow, that slow. can you change the speed setting on com3? mine is set to 230,xxx bps something. that might be why you are getting that error message.

just tried changing the speed, and matching on easy studio, but still no luck. when it DID work a few months ago, it was just a guess-whatever the settings were

it's not a problem.
maybe you should try to remove/uninstall usb cable thru 'device manager' and select under 'Actions' > 'Scan for hardware changes' afterwards. of course, make sure the cable is plugged in without phone connected and easy studio closed. when 'device manager' finishes scanning, it should find the usb cable (might ask for driver files). check the speed setting of the usb cable and make sure to set 230,xxx and remember the 'com port' and set easy studio the same. see if that works.
