Today I was talking to one of my friends down in Florida who has a T-Mobile account. He was going over his bills from the last couple months and to his shock he noticed that he was getting charged from a company called Jamster. Within 3 months the charges accumulated to over 50$!!! Having easy pay set up on his tmobile account and living a busy lifestyle he did not realize that he was infact getting hit with these charges for a service that he was not taking advantage of (even though he should have lol because they send you a text message everytime they charge yeah ). But regardless I did a little research and thought it could possibly help out other people who may check out this forum.
Jamster (www.jamster.com)
When you are getting charged by Jamster you will receive a text message from one of the following numbers:
35555 = $1.99
95555 = $1.99
75555 = $5.99
65555 = $1.99
*How you unsubscribe to this service is by sending a text message to 35555. What you write is STOP or you can call jamster CC at 1(866) 965-2622. When you send a text message to get the free ring tone that jamster offers in their tv advertisements you automatically subscribe to their service and will receive a charge of ATLEAST $1.99 per week.
Zingy (www.zingy.com)
When you are getting charged by Zingy you will receive a text message from the following number:
94649 = $1.99/$2.99
* Zingy's contact number 1(212) 471-8601 or websupport@zingy.com
Joke of the Day
My personal favourite, they charge you 1$ per joke and I heard they really suck lol. When you are getting charged by Joke of the Day you will receive a text message from the following number:
44544 = 0.99$
* To cancel joke of the day send a SMS to 44544 saying STOP JOKE or call them at 1 (866)784-7712 OR postmaster@sms4jokes.com> unsubscribing through email takes 24 hours.
Just like I told my friend, dont call tmobile for some kind of reimbursement because unless the person from Customer Care is new they aren't going to give you one!!! you will need to go to THE SERVICE PROVIDER as these charges did not magically get on your phone. These are services that you had to have subscribed to. Usually WITHOUT the understanding that you will be getting charged and usually (atleast with jamster) you dont get anything in return, and how could you be so stupid you ask??? ahh the promise of a free ring tone (valued at 1.99$ lol)
Good news though Jamster is usually good about giving refunds. My friend will be receiving a full refund from their company.
I started this post to spread some usefull info and if anyone out there has any good stories about one of the thousands of these type of service providers, feel free to share here.

thats right the search for a free ring tone through these service providers usually leads to some outrageous charges, or so I have heard.

We’re been getting email inquires regarding jamster charging T-Mobile customers, so I checked their website because I’m not at my desk there is a quick access number that you can dial on the handset to stop the service with Jamster, but if you access their website under ‘help’ is the customer service with regards to the charge, when you register on their website essentially you’re agreeing to their terms and conditions so be careful of the third part websites that you download features from
OK I just checked the website to cancel the service text ‘stop’ to 7 55 55 from your phone
To cancel, text stop to 7 55 55 from your phone
If you want to cancel your plans via website, you'll need to enter your password and cell phone number
below. If you do not have a password, please enter your cell phone number below and we will immediately
send a password to your cell.

I think the number to text for Jamster is "35555" with the word "stop" entered in the message...

My daughter has been charged for the Joke of the Day to the tune of $51 since the end of November. We are trying to get a refund, but so far have not been able to reach a human! I will keep trying the 866 number. I sent an email to the address you recommended, so we'll see if I get an answer. She had also been receiving the Jamster wallpaper, but a refund has been promised; we'll see if it ever arrives. I hope we are successful with Joke of the Day, since her text messaging was disabled a month ago and they are still sending/charging jokes!

Worst comes to worst you can do a mobile number change. Then the joke of the day will not get charged to her account.

My daughter recently got hosed by the 44544 jokes. A friend of hers told her to try it, not realizing it cost money. Luckily we caught it quick. Only about 15 charges. I called Cingular customer service and they couls not stop it. It took the lady 15 minutes to figure out HOW to stop it.
Needless to say, I am having the internet and text messaging disabled on my daughter's phone.
