I got a V551.....I have figured out how to make a ringtone. I have figured out how to get it from the web. What I want to do is download it via bluetooth, so I won't incur charges by my provider. Is this possible...Will the V551 find anything Bluetooth??? Or is it just good for finding headsets??? If I can download an mp3 ringtone from my pc that would be great....Can it be done???
What are the file formats that this phone can use as a ringtone???
The one ringtone that i have downloaded from cingular isn't nearly as big as the ones I have created...
Any input??
Thanks in advance!!!!
Jimmy

Yes, the phone will detect any Bt device. I use both a data cable and a bt dongle for my phone to transfer files. Look in the motorola tutorial section for more info and or troubleshoot.

Cool, I think I almost have the answers I am looking for. So, if I buy a third party Bluetooth device like a Belkin, or D-Link, or whatever, this will work??? All I am interested in doing is transferring pics and ringtones that I make. Will this work OK with the software provided, or is it necessary for me to get the MPT product??? I really have no interest in using my phone as a PIM or anything like that.....Is this right???
Thanks!!

The software that comes with the dongle will do just fine for what you are asking.
