Okay, not to be a braggart, but...
I received my V635 this week; I can't begin to describe how impressed I am with this phone. It's like they listened to me with my suggestions about the V600;
I hated the address book - only got one letter to try to get through 500 entries - the down arrow key was getting a workout! The new menu allows you to search for more than one letter at a time. So much faster.
The clamshell and antena (sp) appear to have been reinforced.
The skins are cool.
Mine came with MPT and a USB cable
The earbud is now headphones - with the transflash slot you can pack 256MB (I think they're out - it came with a 16MB) a helluva lot of .mp3's on it.
1.2 MP camera/video recorder with light.
Buttons and overall construction appear better (though its still made in China).
EDGE (and cool "E" logo with colors beneath it), though I haven't noticed much difference from my laptop in speed. Any ideas?
Mostly the same seem setup as V600 (at least my changes to 0032 and 004a worked)
Seems to do a better job handing off b/w towers, though I had very few dropped calls previously.
works with my handsfree car kit.
only downside - I had to reprogram some of the exisitng web sessions to get them to work on Cingular - it came with all the UK providers, and it wouldn't let me delete them. I'm sure there's a file or a seem for it, but I've got it working fine without that yet.
Anyway, just my two cents.

I have been having a tough time trying to find proper settings. I have entered a couple different settings and none worked. I notices you have yours up and running in Cingular. Would you provide me the MMS and wap settings?
Thank-you

Okay, to the "what did I pay for it question" - the answer is ~$450 including overnight FedEx from Europe - bought it from mphone; on their webpage they say they've had a high incidence of fraud from the US recently, and aren't taking new customers. Luckily, I bought my V600 from them last year, and that makes me an "existing customer". Have nothing but kudos for those guys...
As to the question about the settings, 611 was unable to help... In addition to all the places we all see on these forums (gawd, can't we post all of them in a separate place - I hate reading them). In addition to the web session menu (which I'm sure you've done 100 times), see if following this path helps...
Messages -> Message Inbox -> [Press Menu button] -> Setup -> MMS Message Setup -> Server Info -> Highlight your server session -> [Press Menu button] -> Edit -> "Server name" should be http://mmsc.cingular.com (mine was still set to the O2 settings).
It's a weird setting, but MMS won't work without it. Hope this helps!

JC-
I just got my unlocked V635 a couple days ago. It came with all german manuals, so I'm assuming that's where it's from. Here's my question/problem: I can't get my web browser up and running. WHen I try to start a web session it says "Browser not setup." I called 611 - no help. I went to my cingular store - no help. I've been perusing the forums here, but can't seem to find any hard info on how to set this up. Any help would be appriciated. I'm paying every month for web usage, and would like to be able to use it. Thanks in advance...
