my brother has a samsung sgh e317 sent to him from California. we are living in the philippines. problem is the sim card here in our country that we are inserting to the cellphone is not accepted. is there a way to still use the cellphone here in the philippines when it came from abroad? i know there is because we have already asked in shopping malls here but the service is so expensive. please help

looks like the phone is locked to cingular unforutnately. so far i have yet to find any unbranded/unlocked firmware. one more thing, it might be stuck on that weird 850 or whatever it is band that cingular was using for a while before the at&t merger. so you might not even able to use it after unlocking, i could be wrong.

I flashed my cellphone (e317), but looks that the .SRE file didnt work to my country (Colombia). Do you have a .SRE file that you can let me?'

the band of my country is 1900mhz, and my cellphone works with it.

davidmontero83, why not contact azia and let them know about the link or file regarding e317 firmware. as for your question, which version of optiflash did you use?

I used optiflash 4.16, the flashing process worked out succesfully, but when I put my sim card, it doesnt work. People here told me that maybe I need to use other .sre file. Do you have anyone?' or Where I can find it?'

that means you would need a different firmware. the firmware is the sre file. if i can find an unbranded one, i'll post it here.
