I have an account with cingular and im not eligible for an upgrade until next year. My question is, is it possible for me to get another phone now? i wanted to go from the motorola v180 to the motorola razr if thats possible?

I don't see why not. You would have to pay full price from Cingular though.
If your planning to get it from Ebay, make sure the phone is unlock to any provider.

well i just looked under my account and when i go to upgrade phone it gives me that b/s about next year, so it says i cant do it. But i dont see why i cant buy one from them and let them activate it....how would i go about doing that?

If you want to buy a new phone from them, go ahead if you don't mind paying full price. It won't have to be activated by them, all you need to do is pop in your SIM card to use it. You should call them to change the serial number on your account so just in case the phone is lost or stolen they can deactivate it.

Right now on Cingular's website a Razr V3 is $350 after rebate with a 2 year contract.
On Ebay they are about $450

hehe v3 priced droped a lot, my store sells it for 180 after rebate 1 year contract. but yea... you can buy a unlocked v3 and just switch the sim card over
