How do you set up MMS and Email/internet on Nokia 6170?? I just bought it and it only give me an option to connect to 3 different networks: Idea Network, Airtel Network and I forgot the last one.. Is this thing compatible to work North American Network.. I went to Tmobile configuration center and it doesnt have Nokia 6170 in the list. And I went to Nokia Settings support center , it doesnt have US in the country list therefore they couldnt provide any support..

Could it be because Nokia 6170 was released for Europe, Middle East and Africa?

The 6170 is triband, it should work in the USA.

But seems it hasn't been officially released in the USA, so there is no official support at the moment.

ya it does work, you can call and send sms from it.. and the other non-communication features work just fine

but the mms, email and other features thats related to the web dont work.. I mean I paid for the phone and ALL of its features, if they didnt work, why keep it?

Thats why I'm wondering maybe someone here can help me with the settings and such..

I have both Nokia 6170 and Motorola Razor V3 in my hands, I need to sell one of them, but cant decide which..

I would keep the V3, I don't like the 6170 at all.

Try the settings for the 6230. They should work because both phones have the same (online) features

If you dont mind, please tell me why you dont like 6170?

I've been reading reviews about it, and mostly the complains were about the mini display in the front malfunctioning after a few weeks and the hinges becoming loose.

Personally I think Nokia is just new with flip phones manufacturing, so they're not experts at it yet unlike motorola.. its like they're still in the experimental stage.. I dont know if this is wrong thinking like this, what do you think?

Thanks for the help by the way. icon_smile.gif

I dislike the design of it. It is cold and not friendly. Also I think it is overpriced. I would get the 6230 for the same price which is in my opinion the better phone.

Hello,
I am having a tough time deciding between the 6230 and the6170. I am in Ontario Canada and can only see pictures of these phones. I am gonna get an unlocked one from the U.S., but have heard that the 6170 has quite a few problems with the hinge, the power, and of course the memory. I havent heard anything bad about the 6230. Can anyone help make my decision easier. Thanks
