I followed some of the earlier posts to get real music ringtones instead of those stupid polys and monos. I understand how to disguise the file and everything, but other than emailing the tone to your phone. How do you get it on, through a program, text message, etc?

There are a number of programs that are useable, but Bitpim seems to be the most widely used and easiest to operate. Visit bitpim.sourceforge.net for the download. That and a USB cable and you are in business.
Hope that helps...

I bought a "lifetime" membership from freeringers for $8 - through their svc you basically search the internet for the tune/tone you want and then save it to your hard drive. Then you load it through their server and they will convert it as needed for your phone and send it to you as a message - when you receive it and open up the message it automatically starts playing the tune/tone you sent and then you decide whether to save it or not. It works with pics too. You definitely have to make sure your antivirus software and pop-up blocker thingy is up-to-date though if you use this svc. But the downloads are unlimited and I only had to pay the 8 bucks once...so far I haven't gotten any porn pop-ups or junk ads so I guess it's all good for now. It's great if you already have your tunes/tones on your PC.

oh yeah, and you don't need a data cable for this svc which is the main reason why i chose it since i had just gotten my phone and wanted to add stuff now and not wait until my cable arrived. This is just my own personal experience and I am definitely not trying to promote them.
