How do you e-mail or send text to them? Waiting for customer service during the day is torture... icon_sad.gif

I think she means how to avoid the long hold times. If you register for Online customer service and go under My Accounts, you'll find an email link.

I agree. It sucks! They aren't available 24 hours. I don't think there's a way to e-mail them, their "contact us" link just takes you to phone numbers or generalized questions.

I've never had a long hold time. Maybe I've been lucky *shrug* I do try to call them at off peak times, say 2-3 PM.

Not only can you go to the website, but if you have worked with a specific customer service rep before, all you need to know is their first and last name. You can then communicate via Email. It is John.Doe@cingular.com. Although let me warn you that long waits are not for people JUST on the telephone. Rather, it is a Cingular constant and unfortunatly the only way to get rid of it is to change carriers. Join my plight and complain about their extremely inefficient customer service and hopefully we can chenge them for the better.

Its a constant with any company if you call them on the right day, not just Cingular. You can't tell me that you've never had long hold times when calling your cable, utility, or landline phone company. Changing carriers wont help because you'll have the same problem wherever you go, and you can't "change them for the better" by complaining, because the only thing the rep can do is tell you, "sir/ma'am, I apologize for the long hold time." Cingular isn't ignorant of their high hold times, but there's only so much you can do when you have 50 million customers and only 68,000 employees total, including orange and blue reps, and no company really wants to increase their workforce into today's unstable economy (thank you Mr. Bush). Unless you have a problem that could easily be fixed by simply reading your manual or your bill, all we can do is try to be patient.

I totally agree with you that if you catch any company on the right day you could be in for a long wait time. I was more talking about the inefficiency of the whole customer service team in general. Even though the merger is a big cause, it does not justify a representative's incorrect transfer of a customer or not getting back to you by E-mail when they say they will. I may not be part of a company with thousands of associates but I do know that when Im working with a customer and I work with many throughout the day, I make sure to at least give the common courtesy call too let them know I'm putting them off till tomorrow. There is NEVER a reason to leave a paying customer hanging.
Even when involved with a manager to get a warrenty exchange approved, I have been ignored for three days now. He told me he would call me in 4 hours. Thats just no acceptable. The very least he could have done is tell me he wouldnt help me. I would rather not waste three days. Being an old Verizon customer I guess Im just not used to this. All I am saying is that Cingular has a long way to go.
