when i enter 0000 it tells me it is invalid,,,i am using the D-Link BT adapter. It sees it and when it tries to "bond" it asks for pass key and I enter it in the phone and it doesn't work....any suggestions?/

Have you got any password on the fone? maybe you need to use that code, but normally you would enter 0000 then your Pc will promp for password then you enter 0000 again on pc and it connect

0000 is the default for HS (headsets)
the pc should give you a code to type into the phone....you can choose your own on the pc then copy the same to phone to pair it or you can use whatever windows chooses for you and type that into the phone.

start by right clicking the BT icon at the bottom of the screen and selecting recieve file
then goto phone, and locate a pic, select menu>'copy'
now you will select bt and the phone should find the pc.... and prompt to 'pair'

i'm a bit tipsy....i'll check this crap tomorrow

It took me awhile to figure all this out, so I thought I should record this for others who might seek this info in the future ...

There is not default value for the pairing PIN. More importantly, this PIN has no relationship to the V551 lock-code, security code, SIM PIN/PIN2 code, etc.

For the D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth adapter software implementation for WinXP which is OEM'ed from Widcom, you can choose any 4-digit code as your Bluetooth pairing PIN. The "trick" is that you have to enter this code on both the computer and the phone when prompted in turn by each device during the pairing operation (e.g., by the computer and then by the phone if you try to initiate the pairing from the computer end).

For the Motorola Mobile Phone Tools, it will supply you with a PIN which you have to enter into the phone when prompted by the phone during the pairing.
