I'm just curious, does anyone know anything about the Cingular recall on my phone. This is my first visit to this site and also the first I've heard of a V600 recall. I've had dropped call problems since I got the phone. I tried two exchanges and one repair and now I hear it a Cingular problem.
I'd like if anyone has a up-date or a link to more information.
Thank you

I have a feeling it's both. According to earlier posts, Cingular had or has R.F. problems with the signal from V600's.
During my repair by motorola, they said they did a firmware up-date to my phone. I know they did this because in 'ring options' it use to say'Ring and vibrate', now it says 'ring then vibrate'.
Whatever they did, it does seem to be handling the signal better. I only had one of two dropped call. Before up-date I'd have one or two that would get through.

What is your current firmware now?
Goto menu, settings, phone status, other information, flex version & S/W version.

Hmmm. The new firmware must of disable that feature.
You don't happen to have a data cable and smartmoto software do you? You can check your current version just by plugging in and opening the software.

All I have is motorola phone tools. Is the smartmotosoftware available on that? I just got it working to change ring tones, but I havent experimented too much with it.
Thanks Duceduc ,for your help.

It is not one there. If you want to experiment with the software, you can get it here.
